Two of Lithuania's finest contemporary actors come together in the emotionally charged relationship drama “How to Divorce During the War“, which also received a theatrical release in the United States.

Marija is an ambitious department head at a major advertising agency. Vytas is a film director still searching for his place in the world. At first glance, their marriage seems to have everything: they live in a beautifully designed home and are raising a young daughter. A picture-perfect family. But Marija is deeply unhappy. When she finally finds the courage to admit that she wants a divorce, she chooses the worst possible moment for an honest conversation. Does divorce always mean failure? Or could it, in fact, be the beginning of something better? And ultimately, who can tell you how to separate gracefully? There are no instructions – and the tension keeps mounting.

The third feature by Silver Crane Award-winning director Andrius Blaževičius won the Best Director Award at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival (USA), founded by Academy Award-winning actor Robert Redford. In the film, Marius Repšys (“China Sea“, “The Saint“) delivers the most tender performance of his career, while Žygimantė Elena Jakštaitė (“Runner“, “Renovation“), a 2021 European Shooting Star, once again proves why she is regarded as one of the most outstanding actors in contemporary Lithuanian cinema.

The cast also includes rising young actress Amelija Adomaitytė, Indrė Patkauskaitė (“Summer Survivors“, “The Poet“, “Pilgrims“), Larisa Kalpokaitė (“Lucky Stars“, “Vacationers“, “Uninvited Love“), and Rimantas Bagdzevičius (“Uninvited Love“).
